How It's Programmed
The Pathfinder is configured using its intuitive, web-based software. An installer simply connects the unit to a computer via USB and can easily program each of the 17 buttons, set up complex warning patterns, select siren tones, and create automated functions without needing to install special software.
How It's Installed
Installation is significantly streamlined. Instead of running dozens of heavy wires from every light to the dashboard, the FS Convergence Network allows compatible lights and accessories to connect using simple, "plug-and-play" data cables, which drastically reduces wiring complexity, labor time, and potential points of failure.
Benefits for Police & First Responders
The system is built for officer safety and efficiency. It minimizes distractions by consolidating all controls into one easy-to-reach unit. It also allows for programmable hands-free operation, where actions like tapping the horn or pressing steering wheel buttons can cycle through siren tones or change lighting patterns, letting the officer keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.
Compatible Accessories and Lights
The Pathfinder is the hub of the Federal Signal ecosystem and is designed to control their entire suite of FS Convergence Network products, including:
- Lightbars: Seamlessly controls the Valor® and Allegiant® series lightbars.
- Perimeter Lighting: Manages a wide array of SpectraLux® ILS and MicroPulse® warning lights.
- Low-Frequency Siren: It is specifically designed to work with the industry-leading Rumbler® intersection-clearing system, giving it a distinct advantage.
- Other Accessories: It can also control traffic advisors, alley lights, and other auxiliary functions through its configurable relays.
